Xalaat Africa Drum and Dance for Life was founded in 2010 by Yaya Kambaye, a native of Senegal, West Africa.

The Company specializes in Traditional and Contemporary African Dance and Music for performance, classes, and exhibition.

Our mission is to train and maintain a youth ensemble for performance, provide quality artistic experiences, and promote physical well-being through arts education.

Xalaat Africa performs for more than 1500 K-12 students annually through our 'Yeendou' Concert series, provides weekly African dance classes for children and adults, runs summer workshops for students who have an interest in dance, and has our annual Fall fundraiser, 'Dinner and a Dance'.
